Xian Wang SS17

The latest Xian Wang runway collection presented a cohesive set of sportswear-inspired urban leisure clothing. The consistent silhouette was of a structured, almost boxy top over slim-fitting bottoms. The tops were slightly oversized, and the bottoms were tailored, but artfully so.

The top-heavy effect was accentuated by the attention-grabbing length of the bottoms. They were too short to be called pants but too long to be accurately called shorts. They fit the models slimy all the way down to the knees, where they end. Their fit is similar to jeans that have been cut off at the knee. It's not a conventional cut for men's shorts.

The collection was defined by a rich shade of dark denim blue. Even the simplest ensembles were afforded dimension by this color. Many of the tops feature a lighter tone of blue with darker swatches arranged throughout in an abstract manner. These patterns create the casual vibe of jeans in high-end garments.

The outerwear in this collection consists of sleek bomber jackets that drape in clean, straight lines and end squarely at the hips. They accentuate the boxy effect already established in this collection. These pieces are intended for fit, athletic men who enjoy a little sportiness in their designer clothing.
