The Best Hair Styling Products for Men

I put effort into how I look because I understand that presentation is a significant component of my appearance and to many other guys out there. Some people may not like it, but it’s the proven truth. Dressing and grooming to match your personal style go hand in hand.

Throughout the years, I’ve tried so many different hair products and have had to ditch a few due to that overall greasy feeling, sticky texture, or not offering enough hold. I’ve done the due diligence — so you don’t have to — and found several hair styling products that work incredibly. I’ve recommended these to friends countless times and have re-purchased these.

Forte Series Texture Clay

Forte Series Texture Clay is a creamy sculpting agent ideal for men who wear vertical styles. Infused with argan oil and other quality ingredients, this texture clay provides an all-day hold even in the most humid of climates.

Oribe Fiber Groom

Oribe’s award-winning Fiber Groom leverages technology and natural ingredients to create a versatile styling balm. Its next-generation polymers infuse hair strands, resulting in soft-to-the-touch locks that maintain an elastic hold. Fiber Groom adds a subtle shine, giving you a healthy, confident polish.

Baxter of California Clay Pomade

I prefer to avoid products laden with parabens, which is why I can easily endorse Baxter of California Clay Pomade. This ethically-sourced option is anything but tacky and unlike many other pomades I’ve tried in the past. The formula contains beeswax and whipped clay, which creates a silky cream that delivers a strong-but-flexible hold in a variety of hair types. I’ve used this before going on a run, the gym, and work - it keeps its hold and style all day long, one of my all time favorites!

Moroccanoil Texture Clay

Texture Clay by Moroccanoil works for both sculpting and defining chunky, rugged-looking styles. It’s made with natural ingredients and controls frizz, plus I imagine it would work just as well on long hair as it does on short.

Layrite Natural Matte Cream

Layrite Natural Matte Cream is my last recommendation, but by no means is it the least. This water-based, lightweight cream provides a flexible hold to finish off softer styles for casual, sporty day looks. I first found out about this when my barber used it on me after a haircut, I’ve been hooked ever since - it also smells like a combination between a cream soda and barber shop.
