Nautica FW16
On day two of New York Fashion Week Men's, it was time for Nautica to hit the runway. The iconic brand presented their Fall/Winter 2016 collection with no shortage of style. The collection featured a distinctive and polished array of men's fashions that was quite diverse in nature. Each piece shown was able to be combined with other pieces to create a handsome outfit or could easily stand on its own and still leave the wearer looking great.
Prior to the Spring and Fall seasons Nautica conducted a survey of its clientele to find out what they most desired in an outfit. This allowed the brand to take a more modern yet sophisticated approach to their clothing line for the Fall/Winter 2016 collection. They also aspired to keep in step with their overall theme for the coming season, which was known as "Inspired by the Sea, Designed in the City." Nautica achieved their goals with a bevvy of sweaters, sport coats and pants in neutral colors.
Nautica designer, Steve McSween, set out to supply men with an elegant look to their wardrobe that included nautical references. He did exactly that with the juxtaposition of the city and water being prevalent throughout the show. Observers of the men's fashion event were treated to a display of twisted cashmere sweaters, wool pea coats, and utility jackets. Nautica then wowed their audience with a stunning winter white admiral coat made of wool. The statement piece was worn with a merino and mohair turtleneck and an attractive twill officer pant.
Men who prefer an athletic style outfit were not to be left out. For them, there were items such as gabardine pants, joggers, and a rain-proof cotton blazer. Some of the sweaters and utility jackets could also adequately fit the bill for an athletic outfit.
Nautica made one thing certain in this men's fashion show, they are here on the men's fashion circuit to stay! The majority of the collection on display was wearable and had expectations of selling extremely well this coming Fall and Winter season.
