N-p-Elliott SS18

N-p-Elliott, the fashion line procured by Scottish designing namesake Nicholas P. Elliott, debuted perhaps its most stunning collection yet at this past New York Fashion Week: Men’s SS18. Elliott began presented his collection with a destination of accessible avant-garde in mind, and his latest line does not disappoint.

This season's menswear line centered on a theme of "identity", featuring bold, but wearable statements that blend controversy with harmony in a storytelling sort of way.

Some of the stories within Elliott's line are more straightforward: there's the badges that scream "I AM!" in capital letters (reminiscent of the 1960s civil rights protest slogans) and emblems exclaiming "consciousness". Another patch reads "mellius", which translates to 'void' in Latin.

Keeping with the personal-is-political concept, is the obviously military-inspired pieces within the line. Sand dune brown and khaki green made frequent appearances, along with sleek, uniform-like touches to jackets and trousers. Gray, gold, leather black, and a touch of tangerine finish off the neutral, yet eye-catching color palette.

Elliott doesn't stop at the political, he seeks to create his own world, his own identity by blending in motifs of sci-fi fantasy film. Models walked down the runway in sleek, modern pieces; essentially, picture Star Wars with a high fashion twist, and you've got yourself a line that must be Elliott-made.
