Matiere SS18

Matiere is known for casual, contemporary designs. The presentation, 'Reflection', displayed a minimalistic theme full of neutrals this year at New York Fashion Week: Men's SS18.

Subtle shades of pink and metallic blue were used in contrast to the black, grey and white used heavily throughout the collection. Hues such as midnight, sky, powder, and electric blue are a popular trend this year.

Unlike his collection from the previous season, there seemed to be less patterns. There were a few floral patterns subtly incorporated here and there. A floral top could be seen layered beneath other pieces, as the lining of a jacket, or a pair of shorts.

The collection has a very effortless and simple yet put together vibe. The pieces were even paired with none other than classic Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.

Matiere's focus for the collection was environmentally friendly fabrics. The fabrics appeared to be lightweight with a nice amount of movement. This brand experiments with textiles developed in the Wakayama Prefecture of Japan, which is an area known for it’s world-class knitting quality.
