Eleven Madison Park's Kentucky Derby Party

On the day of the Kentucky Derby, anyone who was anyone in Manhattan found themselves at the Eleven Madison Park Kentucky Derby Party. Indeed, between the stunning decor and the elegant fashion, this was absolutely the Derby party to attend. Let us have a look at what made this swanky event so utterly delightful.

The Cuisine

It's not every day that you see the best of the best of Southern cooking in New York City, but the Eleven Madison Park party is a special exception. Guests were treated to classic Southern dishes like fried chicken, prepared by legendary chef Daniel Humm. An extensive raw bar and shellfish were also offered, rounding out the spectacular spread. Of course, every guest was drinking the most classic Kentucky Derby cocktail, the traditional mint julep.

The Fashion & Neil Patrick Harris

At this year's party, the celebrity guest to see was Neil Patrick Harris, who looked positively dashing in a bowler cap. Harris mingled with other Manhattan elites, in addition to a whole host of distinguished guests.

The Kentucky Derby is the only time of year when it is acceptable for sophisticated New Yorkers to add a dash of Southern charm to their wardrobes. Classic Antebellum looks could be seen in full force at this year's event. The ladies donned classic spring sundresses in light fabrics and colors, finishing off their looks with the traditional wide-brimmed hat.

For the gentlemen, tailored, light linen suits were the style to be seen in, with some attendees such as Harris finishing off their ensembles with a fedora or bowler cap.
