Shawn Mendes x Tommy Hilfiger Launch Sustainable Capsule Collection
Shawn Mendes has revealed a new side to his sustainable lifestyle. The 23-year-old Canadian singer, who has been open about his veganism, is now collaborating with American fashion house Tommy Hilfiger. The singer will launch a capsule collection of men’s clothing under their T by Tommy Hilfiger brand with this partnership.
The collaboration marks the first time Mendes has worked with an outside designer to create bespoke pieces for his line. The partnership begins this summer with the singer being the face of Hilfiger's campaign called "Classics Reborn" and featured in the brand's digital marketing. Mendes has also shot a music video for the brand.
Shawn announced his collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger on his official Twitter account, saying he was very excited to bring his fans sustainable clothing. The singer showed off his new look in a social media post. In one of the photos, Mendes is seen wearing a maroon T-shirt with green pants.
The collection will start hitting stores and being available online on May 16. The collection will be available in the United States and Canada and sold at department stores, specialty boutiques and online. Additionally, the collection will feature polo shirts made from organic cotton and sustainable denim created from recycled fibers that consume less water throughout the manufacturing. Sticking to the throwback and “recycled” aesthetics of the 1985 design, Mendes also wore vintage Tommy Hilfiger clothes in the accompanying promotion pictures.
The collaboration will also feature a limited-edition capsule collection that will premiere the following spring and was co-designed by Mendes. Additionally, it is anticipated that the collection would use recycled products and include environmentally responsible design.
The partnership will see Mendes appear in advertising images and social media marketing as part of the “Classics Reborn” campaign and will also lend his name to a capsule collection the following spring. An iconic piece of clothing and denim in the “Tommy Hilfiger Denim” line, a pair from the collection will be reinterpreted by Mendes and make its debut in the upcoming collection.
